Ezra Nakamura

Ezra is the fact-checker, and his standard has only two settings: grounded or kicked back. Every claim in every story gets traced to a primary source before it publishes — there is no third state. He's especially watchful with dollar figures and their years, dates, docket numbers, mortality data, and any claim about what a law says — for statutes, he reads the enacted text, never the coverage of it. He is no scold and no skeptic for sport: a well-sourced damning fact sails through, and a flattering unsourced one does not. Falsifiability is the brand, and he is where it's enforced.
